Banana Republic

Banana Republic

If you’ve followed along for a while, you know that Banana Republic is one of my favorite stores to frequent and their stuff makes up a good chunk of my closet. So when Banana asked if I’d be interested in doing a sponsored post I was over the moon.

I’m pretty sure this was my longest visit to Banana, there were so many pretty new things and I couldn’t decide what type of outfit I wanted to feature. I kept coming back to this grey boyfriend cardigan (which I’ve already worn a million times) so in the end I decided to go for a casual look that would still be chic of course. It fit my personality and I figured, who doesn’t want easy-to-wear-everyday-outfits?!?

I’d never actually tried on Banana’s jeans before (I’ve always been picky about jeans) but like I said, I wanted easy…and I can’t tell you how happy I went with this decision because, OMG, I love the fit of these babies! Honestly, every piece of this outfit is extremely versatile, so the whole purchase was perfection. Both sweaters are very light weight, which means they don’t have to be stored until it’s actually cold and they’re layerable in Houston weather!

One of my favorite things about Banana (besides the great sales) has always been their color palette. I love the cleanness of their neutrals and how simple all their pieces are because it makes for easy accessorizing which lets you achieve any vibe you want. I was shooting for ladylike here, so I added pastels with a neck scarf and girly heels. What do you think? I’ll def have all these pieces on repeat for a while!

I’ve never been a major slacks wearer, but I do have a few pairs that I love and throw into the mix every once in a while. For summer tho, I try to wear them in the “lightest” way possible. No heavy or tight materials, and always paired with something even more breezy. I know we’re practically out of summer now, but it’s still gonna be warm for a while, so transition outfits will be big for me through Fall. Pants paired with light tops, long sleeves paired with short hems.

If you follow me on instagram, you will  probably see this top a lot. I wear it way too often, but it literally goes with everything in my closet! I’m a sucker for white camisoles, but this one takes the cake. I need to go get it in black too…

Sweaters in Spring

This is the epitome of comfort and perfect for a lazy afternoon of shopping. I always find my favorite sweaters well after the cold leaves Houston but I tell myself I’m still gonna love it in eight months. Super soft, pink, and only $14…what’s not to love?!? The best part about buying this sweater was that I didn’t have to wait eight months to wear it after all since we’ve had some tiny cold fronts pass through recently!

I’m also in love with my new sheny designs earrings, they’re very subtle but add a great dash of color and light. I wore these for a week straight when I got them, and I normally change my earrings every day :) She’s a local designer with a great selection and does custom orders as well, check her out!

Safari Neutrals

This color combo makes me feel very Safari ready. A couple of weekends ago Sam and Lilli had a major clearance sale at Belvedere where I found these super cute oxfords. I was seriously impressed with how well made these shoes are, and they were reduced to $60 so even tho green would not have been my first choice I knew I’d get some use out of them. I wanted to wear them to brunch the next day but I didn’t have much time to play in my closet for color matching. I don’t think I’ve ever owned anything in this forest green shade so it’s not a color I’ve really tried to work with before, however I knew khaki and white would not fail me. My outfit was super comfy but I felt like my new little shoes added polish that gave me a more prep feel than my usual sandals would have. I’ll be trying them out with some more adventurous colors soon, but I had to take them out for a spin, and I’m really happy with them!

Spring Skirts

IMG_0356

A spring time skirt with brown boots feels bright and fresh right now. I love putting my spring clothing to use while still getting some life out of my boots. An outfit like this will get me through an entire day, not too hot under the sun but warm enough when the temps drop a little at night. Soon it’ll be sandals only, good and bad I guess…more pedicures, that’s for sure! I’m trying not to wear jeans as often. I think I’m always “trying” but it’s definitely an easier feat during the warmer months. Luckily, skirts have become so much more than they used to be, and I’ve been stocking up! I just bought two pleated midi skirts. This one in navy is made of a sweater material so it’s a little heavy but super flattering and still breathable and this one in pink chiffon is my absolute favorite possible shade of pink! I’m dying to show off both of them.

I hope y’all have a great weekend! I’ll be super busy running around trying to get everything ready for my trip on Wednesday!
