Fashion Houston 5

This week has been crazy fun and exhausting, but I’ve enjoyed every fashionable moment of it! It all started Tuesday night when Fashion Houston hit the catwalk for their fifth year. I bought tickets with my girlfriend the day they went on sale and we definitely enjoyed what we saw. Wednesday night I was lucky enough to attend with a media pass from Houston Fashion Bloggers along with a few other blogger babes and boy was I blown away! They started the evening showcasing four students from The Art Institute of Houston, which I couldn’t have loved more. What an amazing opportunity for these students, and what a great way to enhance Houston’s love of local fashion. Demartini’s models blew kisses at the audience, and cutest catwalk moment of the night was when the designer took a selfie at the end of the runway with all her models. Being the sucker that I am for shades of white, my favorite of these lines was Dal…flowy, comfortable and clean  I could totally see myself wearing every piece designer Clarence T Lee had to show!

Next, Rubin Singer debuted his pre-fall 2015 collection, and he stole my heart. It was dark, tough, and edgy, yet undoubtedly feminine. Made up of mostly black and white pieces, rich olive was sprinkled into the collection as well as the most liquid-looking chrome and one hot pink dress that had the most beautifully intricate lace detailing. I was so in love with this collection that I couldn’t pick just a few faves to showcase, so below you will see my eight favorite along with a video :)  Matthew Campbell Laurenza displayed his pieces on models dressed in black, a first for Fashion Houston, who had not hosted a jewelry designer before. Rene Ruiz gave every girl in the audience a reason to want to get married when he closed his show with a breathtaking wedding gown. His evening gowns were all beautifully detailed and modern in a muted color palette and easy elegant silhouettes. Naeem Khan closed the night with his vibrant spring collection. It was sheer, it was floral, it was beaded and feathered, there were ruffles and lace and sequins and all kinds of perfection. My favorite part of this collection was that all the pieces looked really easy to wear.

This was easily my favorite night of Fashion Houston so far, I will be returning tonight for the finale and I can only imagine how amazing it is going to be! I can’t wait to see all the fashionable gals on the red carpet again! Are you going to be there?!?
