Wednesday night Carlos, along with seven other young Houstonians, were recognized for their charitable and philanthropic contributions to the city with The Houston Grand Opera’s 2014 Ovation Award. Elaine Turner hosted the cocktail party in their Rice Village store (which is super cute btw) the turn out was great and everyone I met that night was impressive in their own right. The eight winners had their portraits taken by Anthony Rathbun who did such an amazing job of capturing their personalities. Anthony’s final selection to showcase at the event was fun and quirky…Carlos’ was my fave tho :) It’s still hard for me to believe (and even keep up with) all the things Carlos is involved in and passionate about. He inspires me everyday and motivates me to be better and do more. He helps me so much with my blog and is always offering new ideas. I appreciate him and I am so lucky to have him in my life.
After the awards party we headed over to West Ave to meet some friends (there was a fashion show there earlier benefiting Cancer Forward) Lignet Roset was hosting the after party. This place had some super cool, totally unaffordable, but fun to look at furniture and decor. I loved it, and Melissa drove out from Spring to celebrate with us so we had a lot of fun. Sorry that a lot of my pics are pretty dark but I still wanted to share some of the evening.
Also, this was my first go at Rent the Runway, I absolutely loved my dress! I had a little issue with it originally but RTR quickly remedied the situation, and I will definitely be using them again….next weekend actually!
