This weekend I drove up to Fredericksburg with my love and my little sis and her man met us for a gorgeous double date weekend. This was my first time in Texas Hill Country and I don’t think we could’ve picked a better weekend wine tasting. The weather was so nice and not humid, loved it, we even enjoyed a little cold front Saturday night! It worked out for us that this weekend was also Oktoberfest in Fredericksburg so Friday night we headed out to the festival and partook in some German beer, sausage on a stick, roasted nuts, and even a little shopping. Saturday was a day devoted to Texas wine, we visited 3 different wineries. We didn’t know where we were going or how to choose, it was luck that brought us to the first, Inwood Estates, which turned out to be my favorite! We met the owner who gave us great recommendations to ensure we were trying true Texas wine only. William Chris Vineyard was our second and most beautiful stop, the main house of the winery was transformed from a super old house but still had a cool vintagy feel. The ceiling in one room was made entirely of old doors! Hilmy was our last stop, it was the busiest and smallest so we didn’t spend too much time there, but the wine was great. All the wine was great! The entire weekend was amazing, on our drive home we even stopped into San Antonio to meet up with my boyfriend’s little sis for brunch. There was a lot of driving, luckily though, by the time we made it home I was more than happy to stretch my legs out and get in my 5 mile run. I’ve got a half marathon coming up next month and if I skip a run in training it’s hard for me to get back on track so I’m really pushing myself!
