Everyday Essentials
Everyone has items they cant live without, or at least favorites that they will use above all others. For the most part, I have to say I’m a minimalist when it comes to beauty products. I love them all, I love buying them and playing with them, and how pretty they all look on my vanity. But it’s really only nights out on the town that you’ll see me fully coiffed and colored, or those rare mornings that I wake up with extra time to primp for work. Actually since I started blogging I’ve found myself taking an extra minute in the mornings to sweep on this Laura Mercier blush that I only found a few months ago and don’t think I could ever live without! I wear the Lush Nectarine color, it’s absolutely perfect for my complexion and I love the look and feel of it when I wear nothing else on my face. The other newer item on this list for me is the YSL TOUCHE ÉCLAT. I’ve tried every possible concealer out there with no luck. I find them all too heavy, or oily or just not helpful….I swear most concealers just make my dark circles look worse so I used to only rely on eye creams. I swear this pen is like magic in a bottle! I guess because it’s more of a highlighter it works a little differently than most concealers and it’s so light that i don’t have to blend it with other make up allowing me to really use it every day.

I am a hardcore lover of long lashes and full eyebrows a la Camilla Belle or Jennifer Connelly and finally took a stand against waxing several years ago and have loved the results. I couldn’t live without a spooly brush and gel to set them otherwise they can be a little all over the place. When I have time I’ll fill them a little to really make them stand out, but for day to day I’m happy with brushing :) As far as lashes go, I absolutely cannot leave home without curling! Of course mascara makes everything better, but a quick clamp of shu uemura and my lashes are up and out for the day amping up my natural look.

As far as hair goes, I’m always trying new things, I’ve never had a set product routine. Recently I gave in and tried hair oil and I’ve gotta say this is the only brand I’ve tried and I love it. It’s the only thing I put in my hair after every single shower before any other products I might use that day. My hair feels healthier and shinier since I started using it and I don’t plan to stop or even shop around really. This Organix Moroccan Argan oil cost me less than $5 and has already lasted 2 months!

There are 2 items on here that I have been using for at least 10 years and are still my faves! Burt’s Bees chapstick, all day every day, I’m an addict, I’ll probs never stop when it come to this one. My sister bought me my first bottle of Princess by Vera Wang in high school. I didn’t wear perfume then because they all bothered my allergies.  I still can’t do super floral but the chocolate lavender scent of this is subtle and delicious and even though I experiment more looking for perfumes I can handle now, this will always be my favorite, thanks Ash!

Oh and this last one I had to add because I now a lot of people out there are like me and hate the slimy feel of lotion on their hands. I work in a dermatology office and we get samples of so many different creams and lotions. This Eucerin hand creme is the only thing I’ve found that really feels likes it’s working, it’s thick and it feels like it really seeps in and leaves a protective layer without being greasy. It’s like your hands are just smooth enough.

If anyone was looking to try something new, I hope this can be of some help!
