Leather has been trending hard this year, especially with this summer’s introduction of a new lighter leather wearable even during the hotter months. And we all know leather has a strong standing in fall fashion from the ever popular moto jacket to the finally becoming more accepted over the knee boot (or even below the knee if you’re still too shy.) Leather has become a staple in my closet and I’d like to help it find it’s way into more closets! So, I’m making my way around some fun spots in Houston this week in my (faux) leather skirt to show y’all how versatile and easy to wear leather can be.
I’m starting this week with what most people might think of as the only way to really pull off leather, my “night out” look.
I went for an all black, mixed fabric, slicked back look which was the perfect backdrop to these amazing earrings I’ve been dying to wear. I should mention this was my first stab at a crop top. I’ve had mixed feelings about the trend but I was pleasantly pleased with the outcome. My one piece of advice to anyone who wants to try it though… only a sliver of skin should be shown! There are few that can do this differently but in general this is my thought to keep the look clean.
